The Narendra Modi government is all set to rollout a mega plan to plug leakages in food, fertiliser and kerosene subsidy. The plan proposes to equip each and every fair price shop across the country with a biometric facility by the year-end.

According to the plan every district in every state will start implementing this starting July. The beneficiaries will be linked through Aadhaar cards. About 18 states have already completed the digitization process and Aadhaar linkage of the public distribution system (PDS).
