After getting its first tax appeal rejected by the Supreme Court on the basis of using 'authoritative language' in the text, Mahindra Satyam is planning to resubmit its tax appeal to the Supreme Court on April 15, reports CNBC-TV18's Kritika Saxena quoting sources. Its earlier tax appeal demanded tax relief of Rs 617 crore.
Finding the tone of the appeal 'arrogant', the Supreme Court had raised issues with the company's earlier appeal, which was filed on April 11. Lawyers Harish Salve, Abhishek Singhvi appeared before the court on behalf on the company. The counsel claimed ignorance to the text of appeal. Salve, who will redraft new tax appeal and resubmit to the court, also offered to step down.
