The department of policy and promotion has clarified that all sectors should be open to 49% indirect foreign direct investment (FDI). The DIPP has made this clarification in a discussion paper. The clarification will impact sectors like media, defense, multi brand retail, airlines. Insurance though has been kept out of this by the DIPP, reports CNBC-TV18
