The tax authorities around 10-15 days back said that they are outlining a detailed plan on the methodology to be used to recover their tax dues from Kingfisher Airlines.
Both CBEC and CBDT have filed a joint petition or joint Special Leave Petition (SLP) in the Supreme Court to recover their tax dues that Kingfisher Airlines owes. According to the sources, the total tax dues currently stand at around Rs 329 crore.
The income tax department is claming around Rs 269 crore and the service tax department is claiming the balance amount. In next few days a notice will be served to Kingfisher Airlines and an official SLP will be filed in the Supreme Court.
The tax department is waiting for a revival plan. They are in touch with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Kingfisher Airlines had a timeline of around 30 November for the lenders but there is no clear indication as to how they will repay the dues to the lenders. No indication is yet even given to the DGCA.
