Google has just revolutionised boring spectacles. While the internet giant's futuristic "Project Glass" won't really help improve your eyesight, there's still a lot to see. It lets you text, click photos and of course Google without actually having to use a hand-held device. In other words a wearable computer that's what Google has now come up with, reports CNBC-TV's Ekta Tibrewal and Suresh Venkat.

If you have always fancied sporting a look similar to that of Neo's from the matrix, Google's project glasses are probably just your thing. This year, at Google's Annual I/O Conference, company's co-founder Sergey Brin demonstrated Google's "revolutionary" smart glasses called "project glass". So exactly, what do these project glasses do? Imagine you are walking down the street and if you have these glasses on, you can still text, find directions, click pictures, video chat or even shop online with the blink of an eye.
To drive the point home Google demonstrated its smart glasses with the help of stunt bicyclists, rappelling high-rise buildings and broadcasting their activities via Google project glasses. The users also got to see exactly what skydivers wearing these could see - in this case a spectacular view of San Francisco!
Priced at a steep USD 1500, Google's project glasses could indeed be the next big innovation in the world of wearable computing and according to the internet giant the project was launched with two broad goals in mind - "communications through images and quick access to information".
So, moving from smart phones to smart glasses, here's to seeing a smarter future! Also watch the accompanying video...
