Not just in Lok Sabha polls, most exit polls seem to suggest that the Modi wave is still very much prevalent even now. BJP is projected to reach the halfway mark with its allies in Maharashtra, says Today's Chanakya and other surveys. The saffron party is also set to win simple majority in Haryana.

Sanjay Pugalia of CNBC Awaaz too believes BJP will win with a clear majority in Maharashtra. But if in case it falls short then it would prefer joining hands with a few independents, followed by a smaller party Maharashtra Navnirman Sena. Also, there is a possibility that Sharad Pawar’s NCP may offer full support to the BJP from the outside.

Pugalia does not see the BJP once again tying up with heavy-weight and heavy bargaining Shiv Sena, unless they fall short by a huge margin.

He expects Devendra Fadnavis to be the new Maharashtra chief minister and Captain Abhimanyu Singh to head Haryana if BJP wins in both states.
