Reiterating Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh's view on the Union Budget announced today, Commerce Minister, Anand Sharma said that the Budget is one made under a challenging economic backdrop.
Sharma in an interview to CNBC-TV18's Shereen Bhan, said he doesn't expect the FY13 GDP growth to be below 5%. Sharma also raised the chorus for targeting sectors that need a 'real push' for contributing to the Indian economy.
Sharma says the past year was a bad year for the Indian economy. He said the European Union's meltdown and low capital inflows are affecting the Indian economy. Sharma added saying the country will not meet the FY13 export target of USD 350 billion.
