Multiple states will observe holiday on Monday, August 26 on account of Krishna Janmashtami celebrations across the country.
Banks too will remain shut to celebrate the auspicious day which marks the birth of Lord Krishna. The festival holds special importance for Hindus around the world who celebrate the day with great fervour and joy.
As per bank holiday calendar list published annually by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), both public and private sector banks will remain shut in cities that will observe holiday.
However, people should take note that while the physical banking services will remain closed on Monday in select cities, the digital banking services including internet banking, mobile banking, WhatsApp banking, NEFT, and RTGS will continue to function as usual.
The holiday list is published by the RBI differs from state to state and customers should check the holiday list before visiting to the bank branch.
