Bank Holiday on November 5: After the Dussehra-Diwali festivities in the month of October, this month will also see bank closure in several states on account of Guru Nanak Jayanti and Kartika Purnima. These festivals will be celebrated today, November 5. The holiday calendar published by the Reserve Bank of India at the beginning of the year is the primary source of all bank closure schedule in the country. This schedule includes both public and private banks. So, without further ado, here is the city-wise list November 5 bank holiday as per mandated by the RBI:

Banks across select states will remain closed on the following days this month:
November 6: Banking services will be unavailable in Bihar and Meghalaya due to the Nongkrem Dance Festival and the Bihar Legislative Assembly general elections.
November 7: Meghalaya will observe a holiday for the Wangala Festival.
November 8: Karnataka will have a bank holiday marking Kanakadasa Jayanthi.
While physical bank branches will remain closed on these dates, customers can continue to use digital banking platforms such as net banking, mobile banking, UPI, and ATMs for most financial transactions, including fund transfers, bill payments, and balance inquiries.
However, operations that require branch visits - like large cash deposits, cheque clearances, or demand draft issuance - will be unavailable during the holidays. Account holders are therefore encouraged to complete any in-person banking tasks in advance and rely on digital channels for uninterrupted banking access.
