During the monsoon, your skin might start to feel clammy, with an oily sheen on your forehead and dry patches around your cheeks. You notice a few more breakouts than usual and that tight, uncomfortable feeling on your skin after a day out in the rain. That's when you know your skin is craving some serious hydration. Keeping your skin well-hydrated should be at the top of your skincare list to combat the toll that the rainy season takes on your skin.

According to Shaheen Khalily, Area Head, Myrah, it is a misconception that your skin doesn't require hydration during monsoon season because of higher humidity levels. “In fact, the monsoon season can be very drying for the skin. Rain, humidity and occasional sun exposure can deplete the skin of its natural oils and hydration, causing flakiness, dryness, and breakouts” she says. Moreover, hydrated skin looks healthier and functions better as a protective barrier against environmental pollutants and germs prevalent during the rainy season.
