Diwali brings a sparkle to Indian homes and dating profiles alike. This year, romance takes on a new beat featuring emotional tidying brief matches that burn bright, and relationships that get the family stamp of approval. A recent poll by dating app QuackQuack asked over 10,000 Indian users between 22 and 40 about their festive dating habits. The results show that holiday romance has become a mix of enjoyment, self-reflection, and Indian flair.

Emotional “Bio Cleanse” Before the Festivities

Much like we declutter our homes before Diwali, singles are decluttering their dating lives. Around 34% of users above the age of 28 said they’re deleting old chats, updating bios, and letting go of past romantic baggage before diving into the festive mood. “I realised I still had my ex’s favourite book quote in my bio,” laughed one Chennai-based 31-year-old participant, echoing a sentiment many can relate to. The idea is simple — start the new festive season fresh, emotionally and digitally.
