There’s no dearth of creativity on the internet, and a Mumbai content creator proved this by showcasing his fashion skills in a reel where he turned his mother’s saree into a dhoti. This unusual move drew reactions from many, garnering over 8.3 million views, 463k likes, and 5.3k comments.

Bhooshan Malkani is quite a confident fashionista. For Ganesh Chaturthi, the fashion influencer took his mother’s saree and showed how to drape it as a dhoti in his now-viral video. Malkani wrapped the traditional ivory saree neatly around his waist, making it look like an effortless process.

Next, he wore a crisp golden kurta with traditional embroidery on the centre panel. The two differently sourced pieces matched perfectly, with the front pallu tied with a glamorous gold brooch. The beautifully put-together look was accessorised with a watch and bracelets.

In the caption, Malkani wrote, “They say style is what you make of it… But sometimes, it’s what you inherit. This saree has seen her stories, and now it’s part of mine. Some outfits shine because they’re beautiful. Others, because they hold love. This one is wrapped in hers.”

He shared another set of pictures with his mother, captioned, “This sari may shine in gold, but the true shimmer I carry is hers. Before I wore her sari, I wore her love— and I will go on wearing her warmth and grace every single day.” His mother looked equally stunning in a traditional printed saree with a shining gold border.
