The rainy season is notorious for bringing in a surge of mosquito-borne diseases. As stagnant water pools and humidity rises, mosquitoes become the carriers of illness, including West Nile virus, malaria, dengue fever, and now the Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE). The latter, though rare, poses a severe threat to health, especially as the season reaches the peak of mosquito activity.

Mosquitoes contract the virus from infected birds and subsequently transmit it to humans. The World Health Organization (WHO) notes that while EEE is rare, the potential severity of the illness makes it a significant public health concern. The virus can lead to encephalitis, or inflammation of the brain, which can be life-threatening.
