Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, directed by Luv Ranjan, emerged as one of the standout films of 2023. The movie was widely praised for its captivating portrayal of relationships, featuring the electric chemistry between Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, alongside heartfelt depictions of friendships and family dynamics. The comedic elements of the film were also a major hit with audiences.
During the promotional phase of the film, it became evident that Ranbir and Shraddha were handling their promotional activities separately. This led to speculation and rumors, with Ranbir being asked if his wife, Alia Bhatt, had placed restrictions on him promoting the film alongside Shraddha.
This query added an intriguing layer to the film's publicity, fueling further discussion among fans and media alike.
Ranbir answered, ”Wo kyun mana karegi? Aap aise hi afwah uda rahe hai. Aisa kisi ne nahi bola hai, aap controversy create kar rahe ho. Aaj kal mere life mein koi controversy nahi hai (Why will she stop me? You are spreading rumours, Alia has not made any such statement, you are trying to create a controversy. There is no controversy in my life at present)”.
Ranbir had previously explained that he and Shraddha were promoting the film separately because the filmmakers wanted to give audiences the chance to see the new on-screen couple together for the first time. This strategic approach was aimed at generating buzz and excitement around their fresh pairing, enhancing the film's appeal and anticipation.
The actor was also inquired about whether Alia Bhatt had watched Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. He responded that she had not yet seen the film, as she was occupied with shooting for Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani alongside Ranveer Singh. He mentioned that she plans to watch Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar at a later date once her schedule allows.
Ranbir Kapoor mentioned, “Alia hasn’t watched the film yet. She’s currently in Kashmir filming her project and will return on March 9th. She plans to see Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar after it releases. Alia is my biggest cheerleader and even loved Shamshera, so I’m sure she’ll enjoy this one too.”
Additionally, the actor shared his excitement about reuniting with Alia and their daughter, Raha, once they return from Kashmir. He expressed his eagerness to spend time together as a family once their respective schedules align.
