Three years after thrilling Cannes with Top Gun: Maverick, Tom Cruise has returned to the iconic film festival, this time bringing the high-octane energy of Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning to the Croisette. The action legend, now 62, made a grand entrance on Wednesday as he promoted the latest installment in the long-running spy franchise.

Tom Cruise was joined by co-stars Pom Klementieff, Angela Bassett, Hayley Atwell, and Hannah Waddingham on the red carpet at the Grand Palais. The ensemble cast posed for photos in front of a sea of flashing cameras, igniting buzz for what is expected to be one of the biggest blockbusters of the year.

Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, The Final Reckoning is the eighth film in the Mission: Impossible series and continues the saga of Ethan Hunt as he faces his most perilous mission yet. The film recently launched in Tokyo and is slated for a North American release on May 23.

Cruise’s return to Cannes holds particular significance. In 2022, the actor was honored with a rare Palme d'Or tribute during the festival, which also featured an unforgettable fighter jet flyover to celebrate the Top Gun sequel. While no jets streaked across the skies this year, Cruise’s star power still lit up the Croisette.
