Surender Sharma reveals the reason why he turned down Kapil Sharma's show; says, 'He is earning so much, even I wanted remuneration'

Kapil Sharma has been in the spotlight for various controversies lately. Last week, he faced backlash on social media for an offensive joke about director Atlee. Additionally, veteran actor Mukesh Khanna expressed disappointment over Kapil’s behaviour towards him at an award function. Now, poet Surender Sharma has joined the fray, opening up about his rift with Kapil Sharma during an interview with Lallantop.

Surender Sharma revealed that the rift between him and Kapil stems from differences over remuneration. Surender shared, “There isn’t any reason for the rift. He has done many shows with me when he wasn’t popular. Kapil Sharma needs a few people to make them laugh. I don’t need it. He had even called me for his show, but I didn’t go. I told him that he was earning so much, then even I wanted remuneration. He told me that my appearance on his show would add more popularity to my name. I refused to do that. The producers had contacted me, but I didn’t go.”

Surender emphasised the difference in their comedic styles, stating, “I am not saying Kapil doesn’t know comedy, but to sustain his act, he needs the support of 3-4 people so that he can talk about them. He cannot stand alone for comedy is what I am saying.”
