Shakira dazzles in Pink Prabal Gurung gown at Met Gala 2025

At the 2025 Met Gala, Colombian global superstar Shakira stunned everyone by wearing a stunning custom gown designed by Atelier Prabal Gurung. She brought a dreamy elegance to the red carpet in a soft pink ensemble that demanded attention, embracing the evening's theme, "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style."

As she climbed the famous steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, her presence seemed to float, almost ethereal, thanks to the remarkably long train of her gown that trailed elegantly behind her. Shakira let the dress take centre stage by sporting her trademark tousled hairstyle.

Inspired by Monica L. Miller's 2009 groundbreaking book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity, the annual gala celebrated the impact and artistry of Black fashion and identity on Monday, May 5.

The official dress code for this year, "Tailored for You," highlighted the craftsmanship of menswear tailoring while allowing for creative freedom.

LeBron James served as honorary chair, while Pharrell Williams, A$AP Rocky, Colman Domingo, and Lewis Hamilton co-chaired the event. Tyla, Doechii, André 3000, Usher, Janelle Monáe, and other well-known personalities from the fashion and cultural industries were also on the host committee for the Costume Institute Benefit. Bad Bunny, Sabrina Carpenter, LISA, Diana Ross, J Balvin, Maluma, JENNIE, and Dua Lipa were among the many international celebrities who walked the red carpet.
