Salman Khan, the popular Bollywood actor, has been provided with additional layers of security after the murder of his close friend and former Maharashtra minister, Baba Siddique. Following the tragic incident, Salman Khan’s security was upgraded to Y-plus, which includes a police escort vehicle traveling alongside his own. This increase in security comes amid ongoing threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which claimed responsibility for Siddique’s murder.

Y-plus security provides Salman Khan with personal security officers and an escort vehicle, which is now a constant presence during his travel. A constable trained in using various weapons also accompanies the actor at all times, further ensuring his protection. According to the Mumbai Police, security arrangements have been fortified, particularly around Salman Khan’s Panvel farmhouse, where personnel have been deployed both inside and outside the premises to monitor the area.

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang that has previously targeted Salman Khan, has made repeated threats against the actor over the past few years. The gang’s claims of responsibility for Siddique’s murder highlight the dangerous links between gang violence and Bollywood figures. In fact, a failed attempt to kill Salman Khan in June 2024 was foiled by the Mumbai Police near his farmhouse, where the gang had planned to stop his car and attack him with AK-47 rifles.
