The third season of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives has brought its usual dose of glitz, drama, and quirky moments, with a sprinkle of new faces from Delhi.
One such fresh addition was Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, daughter of the legendary Rishi Kapoor and sister of Bollywood superstar Ranbir Kapoor. While the show revolves around the luxurious lives and friendships of Bollywood’s elite, Riddhima’s appearance added a personal touch, especially with her playful interactions with Maheep Kapoor, wife of actor Sanjay Kapoor.
One of the lighthearted moments that captured fans’ attention was Riddhima’s childhood confession about her crush on Sanjay Kapoor.
In an episode, she candidly told Maheep, “Maheep, you know, growing up, I had the hugest crush on Sanjay.” This revelation left Maheep and others on the show amused. Neelam Kothari reacted in shock, asking, “What are you saying?” To which Riddhima replied, “I am telling you, my first crush! I was this high, and I used to call him uncle back then. What do I call him now?”
Maheep, with her signature wit, responded immediately, “Don’t you dare call me aunty. I will beat the sh*t out of you!” She later addressed the camera, saying, “It’s cute and sweet. Riddhima has a great taste in men.” While this playful exchange was clearly in good fun, it unexpectedly led to a wave of trolling online.
In an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, Riddhima revealed that some viewers didn’t understand the humor and took offense to her calling Maheep “aunty” on the show. Addressing the trolling, Riddhima said, “If someone is seriously commenting on someone’s looks or age, that’s different. But when you’re pulling a friend’s leg, like I did with Maheep, it’s just for fun. People need to understand that context. Maheep and Sanjay were originally friends of my chacha, so if I had called her aunty, it was in a playful way.”
She further explained how Maheep herself took the joke in stride, saying, “Friends tease each other all the time. Maheep is like, ‘I’ll whack you,’ and we laugh it off. But people online started saying, ‘Why are you calling Maheep aunty?’ Arrey bhai, have you never joked with your friends? That’s so stupid. Main toh muh pe bolti hu, and Maheep knows it’s all in good fun.”
The third season of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives continues to explore the glamorous lives of its main cast—Maheep Kapoor, Neelam Kothari, Bhavana Pandey, and Seema Sajdeh. Riddhima’s inclusion in this season brought a fresh perspective to the show, along with humorous and heartwarming moments.
Despite the trolling, Riddhima remains unfazed and believes in staying true to herself. Her lighthearted attitude and candidness have won over many fans, proving that genuine friendships can thrive in Bollywood’s high-pressure environment. The camaraderie between her and Maheep only adds another layer of charm to the show, making it a must-watch for fans of Bollywood’s inner circle.
