In the past few days, Girija Oak Godbole has unexpectedly found herself at the centre of a social-media whirlwind after being affectionately labelled the “blue saree girl.”
What began as a casual wave of online admiration quickly snowballed into full-blown virality, something the actress admits has left her both grateful and slightly overwhelmed.
Responding with quiet confidence, she reminded fans that while trends rise and fall in the blink of an eye, it is ultimately her body of work that she wants to speak for her. Even so, she confessed to being deeply touched by the sheer warmth people have shown her.
Amid all this newfound attention, her Therapy Sherapy co-star Gulshan Devaiah stepped forward to address a worrying development: a fake account impersonating Girija.
Ever the straightforward and good-humoured colleague, Gulshan flagged the imposter on his X profile, resharing a misleading post and using his platform to direct fans to Girija’s real account instead. His message read, “Imposter cashing in on #GirijaOak’s crush phase. If you want to gush and crush, here she is @GirijaOak,”
During an interview with The Lallantop, Girija also opened up about her working dynamic with Gulshan, particularly while filming intimate scenes for Therapy Sherapy.
She spoke with refreshing honesty about how such scenes, despite being carefully choreographed, can still create moments of vulnerability. Yet she emphasised that Gulshan was one of the rare co-stars with whom she felt completely comfortable.
She recounted how he brought “three to four pillows of different sizes” from his vanity van and gently encouraged her to choose whichever helped her feel most at ease. According to her, “During the scene, he must have asked me at least 16 or 17 times, ‘Are you okay?’”

His compassion didn’t end there. She remembered him reassuring her, saying, “If you want to take it out, I’m totally fine with it.” That level of patience and respect, she said, truly stayed with her. Had it been anyone else, the situation might have been far more difficult, but with Gulshan she felt “completely at ease.”
Reflecting on the experience, she added, “I can even talk about it openly now because he made me feel so safe. It’s amazing that he’s that kind of person.”
Meanwhile, cinephiles are awaiting updates on Battle of Galwan, a project expected to deliver a heartfelt tribute to India’s armed forces.
