Superstar Rajinikanth’s Coolie just hit the theatres, and fans turned it into a big celebration. Several fans have arrived in the theatres for the first day, first show.
The film is a tribute of sorts to Rajinikanth’s 50-year legacy. To celebrate the milestone, several fans performed aarti of the veteran actor’s huge cutouts and poured milk on them.
However, new videos are now going viral on social media that show fans taking the dhols inside the theatre and near the ticket counter. Fans danced to the beats of dhols while waiting for the film’s release.
Meanwhile, other videos showed Rajinikanth fans gathering at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad ahead of Coolie first day first show. Additionally, heavy police were deployed at the theatres to regulate any kind of celebrations or crowding at the theatres.
Previously, Allu Arjun’s arrival at the theatre during the Pushpa 2: The Rule release resulted in a stampede that led to the death of a woman and injuries to her son.
Fans have high expectations for the latest release Coolie. The trailer and first look have created excitement among the fans. The film has already broken several records.
The movie set a new record by selling 1.2 million tickets on the nation's top ticket marketplace just two days before its premiere. The film is also performing well at the global box office and grossed over $1.9 million (Rs 166.6 crore) in advance bookings in North America alone.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth will portray the role of Deva, a former gold smuggler who sets out to regain his former glory, in the upcoming action thriller.
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film features an ensemble cast including Nagarjuna, Upendra Rao, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, and Soubin Shahir.
Aamir Khan will also appear in the film in a cameo role. He is speculated to portray Dahaa. Produced on a massive budget, the film features music from Anirudh Ravichander, especially the viral hit Monica.
