Maddock Films has unveiled the much-awaited trailer for Param Sundari, a sweeping romantic drama starring Janhvi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra, directed by Tushar Jalota.
The film, which is slated for release in theatres on August 29, celebrates a love story that cuts across boundaries of geography, language, and culture by fusing music, drama, and intense chemistry with North-meets-South charm.
The trailer, which was filmed in Kerala's stunning natural surroundings, is a mesmerising visual feast that includes backwater bike rides, monsoon-soaked roads and centuries-old churches, all of which are enmeshed in a sentimental romantic film that is reminiscent of SRK-Kajol classics.
The trailer highlights Sidharth and Janhvi's smouldering on-screen chemistry, and the "north ka ladka, south ki ladki" vibe adds a novel twist that is sure to make this one of the year's most anticipated romantic movies.
Beneath the lush visuals lies an emotional core, with Janhvi’s character, Sundari, exuding grace, innocence, and quiet strength.
Draped in elegant chiffon sarees, Janhvi connects personally to the role, sharing, “Sundari is deeply personal to me. Her grace, quiet strength, and love for her roots resonate with my own South Indian heritage. Shooting in Kerala, surrounded by such beauty, I felt an emotional connection to her world that I hope the audience will feel too.”
Returning to his cherished rom-com realm, Sidharth Malhotra creates a new and captivating duo with Janhvi. As Param, he effortlessly adopts the mundu look while bringing to life the charm of a Punjabi munda and Delhi boy.
His portrayal radiates warmth, swagger, and sincerity, perfectly complementing the film’s North–South cultural confluence. Speaking about his character Sidharth said, “With Param Sundari, I feel like I’m revisiting the kind of romance I grew up loving, but telling it in a way that feels fresh and relatable. We wanted it to look as beautiful as it feels, and Kerala’s magic really made that happen.”
The film is "a celebration of differences," according to director Tushar Jalota, in which two disparate worlds come together to form something lovely. He describes Kerala as the ideal setting for the story's enduring imagery and profound emotional resonance.

Amitabh Bhattacharya wrote the lyrics and Sachin-Jigar composed the music, which is set to play a crucial role in the narrative. While the monsoon-themed Bheegi Saree is generating excitement, songs like Pardesiya have already become fan favourites.
With its combination of stunning backdrops, heartfelt storytelling, and a soundtrack set to define the season, Param Sundari is shaping up to be one of the year’s biggest love stories, arriving in cinemas on August 29.
