In one of their most open and sincere interviews to date, the cast of Stranger Things has opened up as fans around the globe prepare for the upcoming season.
During a lively interview on Vanity Fair’s YouTube channel, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, and Gaten Matarazzo opened up about everything- who quite literally grew up together on the sets of Hawkins—looked back on their journey with laughter, nostalgia, and a little bit of chaos, offering a touching reminder of why the show became a global phenomenon in the first place.
The conversation quickly slipped into an easy rhythm, almost like a group of old friends reminiscing about school days.
They teased each other, debated their favourite seasons, and playfully exposed the “messiest” moments from behind the scenes—stories fans never saw but will absolutely love hearing.
Some of the cast admitted that Season 1 still holds a special place in their hearts. It was the beginning, after all—a time when they were just children stepping into a new world, unaware of the cultural tidal wave they were about to unleash.
They talked nostalgically about those early days: the excitement of discovering something magical together, smaller sets, and simpler storylines.
Others believed that they were most challenged as performers by the later seasons, which were full of darker themes, emotional arcs, and ambitious technical goals.
These seasons tested their limits but also allowed them to grow—both as actors and as people. For many, the emotional weight of the later storylines created bonds that have carried far beyond filming.
And then came the fun—stories of the “messiest” seasons. Not messy in a dramatic sense, but in the best behind-the-scenes way: unpredictable weather, laughing fits during serious scenes, prosthetics falling off at the worst possible moment, and creature effects that were more hilarious than scary until CG was added.
With a warmth that demonstrated how much they truly enjoyed spending time together, the cast reflected on these memories.

The most obvious aspect of this last stretch was how bittersweet it was. The cast acknowledged that filming Season 5 has been emotionally taxing and that they frequently stop on set to take it all in. This marks the conclusion of a pivotal period in their lives, not just a show.
Though they stayed tight-lipped about plot details, their reflections made one thing very clear: Stranger Things is more than just a series. For these actors, it’s been a home, a family, and an experience they’ll carry with them forever.
