Director Rian Johnson’s upcoming sequel to the hit Benoit Blanc murder-mystery franchise has officially been titled as ‘Wake Up Dead Man.’

Johnson announced the update on his X (formerly Twitter) account in a brief teaser that also confirmed that Daniel Craig will be returning as the famed detective, Benoit Blanc. At this moment, that's the entirety of the information available at our disposal.

In the teaser, Craig narrates, "In the beginning, the knives came out. Then, behold, the glass was shattered. But my most dangerous case yet is about to be revealed." This teaser cleverly nods to the earlier installments of the murder mystery series: 2019’s "Knives Out" and 2022’s "Glass Onion.”

Johnson is set to both pen and helm the second follow-up to his 2019 film, an unexpected hit in theaters and among critics for Lionsgate, which garnered him an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay.

Late Friday evening, Johnson set the internet abuzz by sharing a photo of a Pokémon egg, hinting that something exciting was on the verge of happening. Approximately ten minutes later, he followed up with his tweet, stating, “I love everything about whodunnits, but one of the things I love most is how malleable the genre is. There’s a whole tonal spectrum from Carr to Christie, and getting to explore that range is one of the most exciting things about making Benoit Blanc movies. We’re about to go into production on the 3rd one, and I’m very, very excited to share the title, which gives a little hint of where it’s going.”
