Filmmaker Karan Johar is the latest celebrity who has praised Kartik Aaryan and Kabir Khan’s Chandu Champion. The film, which is based on Murlikant Petkar, is being described by many as Kartik Aaryan’s career best performance. Johar called the film “a love letter to the human spirit.”
Sharing a picture of Chandu Champion’s poster on his Instagram stories, Johar wrote, “Solid…Sincere…Supreme…”
He then went on to praise the director of the film, Kabir Khan, “@kabirkhankl directs this brave and inspiring life tale like a love letter to the human spirit!”
“@kartikaaryan gives him career best performance with a humane and honest portrayal…a much watch! @nadiadwalagrandson,” he concluded.
Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan have been in the news together ever since Dharma Productions announced Aaryan’s recasting in Dostana 2 in 2021. Johar and Aaryan reunited at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne in August last year and the photo naturally went viral. The pair also announced a film together in 2023.
On Kartik Aaryan’s 33rd birthday last year, Karan Johar revealed his plans of producing a film in which Aaryan will be starring. While keeping the project details under wraps, Johar wrote, "Kickstarting today with some special news on a special day! Extremely thrilled to announce Dharma Movies and Balaji Motion Pictures coming together for a film helmed by the exceptionally talented Sandeep Modi. I find myself elated to also announce the supremely talented Kartik Aaryan as our lead for this story that will unfold in cinemas on 15th August, 2025. Kartik, happy birthday to you…may our collaboration only grow from strength to strength from hereon and never cease to create magic on the big screen @ektarkapoor, being your friend is easily the best thing and now working with you will be no different!!!”
