North West, daughter of legendary rapper Ye (formerly referred to as Kanye West) and Kim Kardashian, has recently landed a high profile gig as part of the cast of Disney’s “The Lion King” at the Hollywood Bowl.
The special live concert event will be filmed across two performances and released as a special on Disney+ later. The two shows will go down on May 24 and 25 in celebration of “The Lion King’s” 30th anniversary.
The 10-year-old media and music personality, who collaborated with her father Ye on his latest album “Vultures 1”, will be jumping onto another animal related project after her first acting performance in the family/comedy “Paw Patrol” starring alongside her mother Kim Kardashian.
North will be joining the previously announced cast members Jeremy Irons, Billy Eichner, Bradley Gibson, Ernie Sabella, Jason Weaver, Jennifer Hudson, and Nathan Lane alongside Tony and Grammy award winning Broadway star Heather Headley and Grammy award winner Lebo M., known as the ‘voice and spirit’ of ‘The Lion King’.
In addition, the immersive live show will also showcase "immersive live performances of the beloved songs written by Sir Elton John and lyricist Sir Tim Rice” including “Can You Feel The Love Tonight,” “Circle Of Life” and “Hakuna Matata.”
As of now though the nature of North West’s role in the production has not yet been revealed, she is bound to make this memorable night even more special.
The stellar live event spanning for two nights will let fans experience life in the Pride Lands as a full orchestra performs the Oscar winning composer Hans Zimmer’s musical score which will be led by conductor Sarah Hicks, according to a press release.
The live-to-film concert precedes the anticipated prequel "Mufasa: The Lion King," set for release on December 20 by Walt Disney Studios. Directed by Barry Jenkins, the live-action feature will delve into Mufasa's backstory.
