Hugh Jackman on what brought him to return as Wolverine; The actor committed to the role without telling his agent

Hugh Jackman’s return as the clawed mutant in the long awaited Deadpool 3, could be called spontaneous but at the same time it wasn’t. The actor revealed that he committed to reprising his role as the X-Men’s Wolverine without letting his agent in on it.

After Jackman got his emotional conclusion in the 2017, James Mangold-directed ‘Logan,’ he had repeatedly said that he would not be returning as the X-Men again. But now the Australian actor has had a change of heart. “Sometimes in life, things come really clearly to you, and when that happens, I’ve learned you just jump,” Jackman said. “You go for it.”

In an interview with Fandango, the Wolverine star, who was also alongside his costar Ryan Reynolds and director Shawn Levy from his upcoming film, ‘Deadpool 3,’ he said, “I was on my way, I was just driving, and literally, just like a bolt of lightning, came this knowing deep in my gut that I wanted to do this film with Ryan (Reynolds),” said the actor. “For Deadpool and Wolverine to come back together. I swear to you, When I said I was done, I really thought I was done. But in the back of my head, ever since I saw ‘Deadpool’ 1, I was like, ‘Those two characters together.’ I knew it, I knew the fans wanted it ever since I put on the claws, people talked about these two. So, that had always been there, but I just knew.”

He then went to add, “And I literally couldn’t wait to arrive. Soon as I arrived, I rang Ryan. And I just said, ‘Let’s do it.’ Like, I hadn’t rung my agent, no one. I had to ring my agent and said, ‘Oh, by the way, I have just committed to a movie.’
