Hollywood’s legendary director, Martin Scorsese, most known for his gangster/crime films, in 2019 had turned the internet upside down with his comments on Marvel films. He had compared the superhero franchise as “theme parks.”

With his comments criticising the multi-billion dollar blockbuster franchise, fans of the mastermind director and of Marvel were at pretty much a ‘war’ with one another. The topic is of such a big magnitude that everybody has a differing opinion on the criticism.

Recently, creator of ‘Star Wars’ and ‘Indiana Jones’, visionary George Lucas, spoke about the slamming on the studio. In an interview with Brut 9 at Cannes, Lucas was asked about his thoughts about Scorsese’s opinion that Marvel films weren’t “cinema.” "Look. Cinema is the art of a moving image," Lucas explained. "So if the image moves, then it's cinema. I think Marty has kind of changed his mind a little bit."

Lucas then went on to speak about how digital cinema was being opposed to by Martin Scorsese and Christopher Nolan. “Marty and Christopher Nolan and you know a lot of other directors weren’t happy that I was helping to pioneer digital cinema. When I was trying to sell digital cinema, they said “No, no, thats not movies.” But finally, I don’t know about Christoper Nolan, but I know that Marty and a lot of the other directors have come around and now its almost all digital,” Lucas then remarked.
