Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning released in India on May 17, an entire week ahead of its premiere in the US on May 23.

The Final Reckoning continues the high-stakes story of Tom Cruise's character Ethan Hunt and his IMF team shortly after the events of Dead Reckoning. This time, they are in a race against time to stop "The Entity," a rogue artificial intelligence, from being taken over by the dangerous Gabriel Martinelli (Esai Morales).

Hayley Atwell, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Angela Bassett, Pom Klementieff, and Henry Czerny are among the well-known characters who return in the movie for yet another action-packed mission.
A part of Money Control's review of Mission Impossible- The Final Reckoning read, "The story picks up some pace only in the second half, and it's here that the film momentarily finds its footing with two major action sequences. The first sees Ethan Hunt diving into the wreckage of a submarine to retrieve the Podkova (the gadget that has the source code), while the second — a high-octane aerial sequence involving the retrieval of a “poison pill” device — offers a glimpse of the tension and spectacle the franchise is known for."
