Arjun Kapoor is celebrating his 4oth birthday today (June 26) and he had a special birthday message from none other than his ex-girlfriend Malaika Arora.
The actress and entrepreneur took to her Instagram Stories to share a photo of Arjun striking a playful pose in what looks like a European city, captioned simply, “Happy birthday @arjunkapoor,” followed by a white heart emoji. While the post was minimal, it spoke volumes about the mutual respect and fondness that appears to remain between the former couple.
One of the most talked-about romances in Bollywood was that between Malaika Arora and Arjun Kapoor. Following years of conjecture, the couple officially announced their relationship on Instagram on Arjun's birthday in 2019.
Ahead of his birthday, Arjun Kapoor, who turned 40 on Thursday, posted a contemplative message in which he discussed the disconcerting aspects of the increasingly virtual and confusing world of today.
Before deciding to break up last year, Arora and Kapoor dated for about six years. The two maintained a friendly relationship on social media but never decided to discuss it in public.
Malaika, who was previously married to actor Arbaaz Khan and has a son, has drawn praise and criticism for her mature and self-assured approach to life and love after the divorce. For his part, Arjun has always insisted that mutual trust and understanding are the foundation of their relationship.

Earlier this year, reports of their breakup surfaced, stating that they had separated quietly and that each party had chosen to concentrate on their own personal paths. Malaika's birthday post from today, however, suggests that their friendship and goodwill endure despite their romantic breakup.
On the work front, Arjun was last seen in Mere Husband Ki Biwi alongside Rakul Preet Singh and Bhumi Pednekar.
