Téa Leoni and Tim Daly, beloved for their roles in the political drama Madam Secretary, have officially tied the knot. The couple exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony in New York City, surrounded by close family, as confirmed by Leoni’s representative.
While filming Madam Secretary in 2014, Daly, 69, and Leoni, 59, met up for the first time as Elizabeth and Henry McCord.
Their real-life romance was inspired by the CBS series, which ran for six successful seasons from September 2014 to December 2019.
Quietly, in the summer of 2014, they started dating off-screen. When Leoni was spotted cheering Daly on during his performance of Red in Vermont that July, rumours began to circulate. In December of the same year, PEOPLE verified their relationship.
In April 2015, the pair made their public debut at the White House Correspondents' Dinner. Even their fellow actors were taken aback by their on- and off-screen chemistry. Geoffrey Arend, co-star of Madam Secretary, told PEOPLE that many members of the cast were taken aback by the revelation of their real-life romance.
After her divorce from actor David Duchovny, with whom she had two children, Leoni began dating Daly. Before completing their divorce in August 2014, the couple had been married for 17 years.
