Babil Khan, the son of the esteemed late actor Irrfan Khan, has been receiving commendations for his acting skills in recent ventures, continuing his father’s legacy. Despite this, a recent ambiguous post on his Instagram story raised alarm among his followers, especially with the approaching anniversary of his father's passing.
Babil wrote in the now-deleted post, "Sometimes I feel like giving up and going to Baba," referencing his late father. Although the post was subsequently removed, a screenshot quickly spread across social media platforms.
This screenshot made its rounds on Reddit, where it sparked a wave of empathy among netizens, particularly because of the timing near the death anniversary of Irrfan Khan.

One Reddit user reflected on their own loss, stating, "Feeling the same way too. My father passed away in December 1998. I have spent more time without him than with him."

Support poured in for Babil from his fans. One person expressed, “Sending him good vibes and positivity,” while another commented, “Sending love to you. He’s watching over you.”
For the unversed, in March 2018, Irrfan Khan disclosed through Twitter that he had been diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer. He underwent treatment in the UK for a year, returning to India in February 2019. He was admitted to Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital on 28 April 2020 to receive treatment for a colon infection resulting from the disease. He passed away the following day, 29 April 2020, at the age of 53. Just four days earlier, his mother, Saeeda Begum, aged 93, had passed away in Jaipur.
On the professional front, Babil made his acting debut with the Netflix film 'Qala'. He is now set to feature in Shoojit Sircar's forthcoming film, ‘The Umesh Chronicles’, alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Kriti Panth. Although the release date remains unannounced, anticipation is high for Babil's role in the project. His most recent appearance was in ‘The Railway Men’.
