Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 showcases that Tulsi is devastated when Nandini tells her kids she will be seeing them soon. When Tulsi requests that she cancel her tickets, Nandini responds that she must return for the upbringing of her children in spite of Mihir's hurtful remarks, complimenting Tulsi as the mother she hopes to become. Nandini's decision is set, despite Tulsi's attempts to persuade her to stay by pointing out how she improved Gautam.
Naina, meantime, tells her mother Suchi that she loves Mihir and is having trouble controlling her emotions.
Meanwhile, lunch with Vikram and Naina is being planned at the Sharma residence. While Munni is preoccupied with messages from Ritik, Daksha remarks on how nice they are as a pair and complains that today's generation is getting spoiled.
Pari deceives her husband, Ajay, into thinking she requires a private space free from interruptions so she can study. Priya and Indira first object, but Ajay pushes the matter and succeeds, furthering Pari's covert purpose.
Tulsi steps in to defend Vrinda when Angad makes fun of her for being late to work, pointing out that she is Malti's daughter and that she actually likes her. When Mihir returns home and stops talking to Nandini, the tensions reach a breaking point. When Naina and Vikram later show up for dinner, they discover that the majority of the family has left. As Naina's internal struggle over her affections for Mihir persists, Mihir offers Vikram assistance with her niece's internship, and the two spend a moment connecting over their shared experiences.
