Actor Song Kang, best known for K-Dramas like Nevertheless and My Demon, has completed his compulsory military services and has been officially being discharged as a sergeant in the South Korean Army completed his 18-month mandatory military service on October 1 (Wednesday).
Before leaving his unit, Song Kang expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the fans who had gathered to welcome him. Even with his short-cropped hair and black-rimmed glasses, his clear and glowing complexion drew attention.
Sitting in the back seat of a black car, he greeted fans warmly with a bright smile and a casual salute, offering a special gesture to those who had waited patiently for him for a year and a half.
Song Kang first enlisted as an active-duty soldier in April last year and was known to have led a diligent and cheerful military life.
During his service, he appeared in promotional videos for the Ministry of National Defense’s Military Counseling Center and was also spotted spending time with BTS’s V during his leave, showing a lighthearted and positive spirit.
Now that his service has come to an end, Song Kang is preparing for a quick return to the screen with his upcoming drama For Hands.
The title takes inspiration from the piano technique of “four-hand playing,” where two people perform together on one piano.
In the series, Song Kang will play the role of a piano prodigy who carries both a delicate sensitivity and sharp charisma. With his return, fans are looking forward to seeing the more mature and refined side of him.
