BTS' Jimin may have already addressed his past relationship with Song Da Eun, but the online speculation refuses to die down. Despite the K-pop star confirming that they had dated in the past and had ended things years ago, new “evidence” uploaded on social media has reignited chatter about the duo’s alleged connection.
This time, however, fans are pushing back strongly, and calling the renewed claims “attention seeking” and “misleading.”
The latest round of speculation began when a video posted on Song Da Eun’s alleged social media account went viral. The clip showcased her festive Christmas décor, featuring snow-dusted trees, delicate ornaments and warm mood lighting. While the video appeared harmless at first glance, eagle-eyed netizens zoomed in on one detail - a pair of dolls that looked strikingly similar to the ones Jimin recently showed during a livestream.
Back then, Jimin had clarified that the dolls were a gift from fellow BTS member J-Hope. He even shared a light-hearted anecdote about originally placing them outside his home before bringing them back in because they startled him.
The presence of identical dolls in Song Da Eun’s video prompted a wave of online comments re-establishing a link between the two. Some users quickly speculated that they might still be together, contradicting the agency’s earlier clarification that the pair “had not met in a long time.”
But Jimin’s fans swiftly stepped in to counter the narrative. Many pointed out that common items especially popular décor pieces are not unusual, and could easily be a coincidence. Others argued that Song Da Eun’s clips appeared old, especially given the similarity in the house entrance seen in earlier videos. Fans also reiterated BIGHIT MUSIC’s stance that the two had not been in contact for years.
Some even suggested that the similarities might stem from the time when both allegedly lived in the same apartment complex. They also referenced Song Da Eun’s recent claims of facing financial difficulties, making it unlikely that new, expensive décor items were involved.
