BTS’ hit song Butter, released in 2021, continues to be one of the most loved tracks from the global K-pop sensation.

Even four years after its release, the song has maintained a remarkable record. The disco-pop, dance-pop, and EDM single still holds the title for the largest single-week streams on the Billboard Global 200, with 289.2 million streams — a record it set back in 2021. Butter continues to hold this record as of the October 18, 2025 chart.

Despite a nearly two-year break from active music due to military service, BTS members Jimin, Jungkook, Jin, and J-Hope have all maintained strong positions on the charts with their solo releases, joining Butter in solidifying the group's worldwide dominance.
In the same period, Blackpink member Rosé’s APT, featuring Bruno Mars, achieved the biggest streaming week for a female solo artist with 224 million streams, surpassing previous records held by Jungkook’s Seven and Miley Cyrus’ Flowers.

Meanwhile, Seven remains the largest sales debut in Billboard Global 200 history for any artist, holding the No. 3 position with 217.1 million streams.

Fans, especially the BTS ARMY, have been ecstatic about the group’s continuing achievements. One fan commented, “The question is, will BTS be able to break BTS’ record with their next comeback, because only they can do it.” Another wrote, “BTS on top as per usual, but JK is just huge.” A third added, “Butter is still on top waiting for BTS to break this record. And JK is still on top waiting to break his own record — it’s going to be insane when they come back.”
