Kajol snaps at journalist who asks her to repeat her statement in Hindi after Marathi, says “Jisko Samjhna hai Samajh lega"

At the Maharashtra State Film Awards 2025, Kajol made headlines for something other than her win. The actor, who was honored with the prestigious Raj Kapoor Award for her contribution to Indian cinema, found herself at the center of an unexpected controversy—one that had less to do with cinema and more to do with language politics.

Kajol, dressed in a classic black and white saree, attended the ceremony alongside her mother, veteran actor Tanuja. After receiving her award from Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, she addressed the media and paparazzi in fluent Marathi.

Her emotional speech included a personal moment—she revealed that it was her birthday, and that her mother had once received the same award, making the occasion doubly special for her.

But things took a turn during her post-event media interaction.

While Kajol continued to converse with reporters in Marathi, one journalist asked her to repeat her response in Hindi. That’s when she snapped. Visibly annoyed, Kajol replied, “Abhi main Hindi mein bolu?” (Now should I speak in Hindi too?) and followed it up with “Jisko samjhna hai woh samajh le” (Those who want to understand what I said, will figure it out).
