Fans have been missing Disha’s absence with the reports of the makers looking for a new Daya Ben. However, there have been rumours that Kajal Pisal will star as Daya Ben in the film.
However, Kajal has recently addressed her casting reports while debunking the rumours, claiming that the viral photos are old.
During a recent interview with Zoom/Telly Talk, Kajal said, "I want to clarify that this news is not true. The news circulating is completely false. These are my old pictures that are currently going viral."
The actress further noted, "I have been receiving several calls and messages regarding this, but there is no truth to it. You all know that I am already working on Jhanak, so this is entirely incorrect. Yes, I did audition for Daya Ben in 2022, and those pictures are resurfacing now. But as of now, I can confirm that this is totally fake news."
The rumours speculated after News18 reported that TMKOC maker Asit Modi has finalized a new Daya Ben.
Although the actress's identity has not been revealed, sources indicate that test shoots with her have already begun. According to sources, Asit had been searching for a new Daya Ben and was recently impressed by one of the auditions. The source further stated that the selected actress had been participating in mock shoots for about a week.
