Juan Carlos Gil applauds Vikrant Massey’s commitment on White: 'Five hours of make-up, twelve hours of shooting'

National Award-winning actor Vikrant Massey continues to earn admiration across global film circles, and the latest praise comes from acclaimed cinematographer Juan Carlos Gil, best known for shaping the gritty visual world of the Netflix series Narcos. Gil, who has collaborated with some of the most demanding international productions, has openly lauded Massey’s extraordinary commitment and work ethic during the filming of the upcoming thriller White.

Vikrant Massey, widely regarded as one of the most dependable and emotionally grounded actors of his generation, headlines White, a film that pushes him into physically and mentally intense territory. Gil recently spoke about his experience working with the actor across challenging international schedules and described Massey as someone who brings rare sincerity and discipline to the craft.

The film was shot across two demanding locations, first in Colombia and later in Bengaluru. According to Gil, the three-week Colombia schedule proved especially grueling. The actor spent long days preparing for scenes that required heavy transformation and sustained emotional intensity. “Vikrant is a talented actor, but it was very intense,” Gil shared. “He spent around five hours every day for make-up and hair. After that, he had to do the scene, that’s another 12 hours. He was generous about the job, and with the crew in Colombia.”
