Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck separated in August 2024 after giving their relationship another shot in 2022 and getting married the next year. Recently, Jennifer shared her personal growth after their split.
Speaking at the CBS News’ “Sunday Morning”, Jennifer said, “It was the best thing that ever happened to me because it changed me."
She spoke about how it helped her personally and her reconciliation with her life following the divorce. “It didn’t change me. It helped me grow in a way that I needed to grow [and] become more self-aware," said the 56-year-old singer-actor.
Jennifer also said, “I’m a different person now than I was last year, a year and a half ago."
The singer revealed that working on her upcoming film, Kiss of the Spider Woman, became a “refuge” for her through both her highs and lows.
“Every moment on set, and every moment I was doing this role, I was so happy,” she remarked sharing that she would feel “not great” when returning home until she learned how to “reconcile” her emptiness.
The On The Floor singer also stated that the previous summer was probably the best she had experienced.
"I had a lot of fun. I can enjoy things more. I don't have as much pressure. I realized that joy lies in living those moments and truly accepting life and everything it brings," she added.
In August 2024, Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from Ben aAfleck after their quiet split earlier in the year. The couple, who first ended their engagement in 2004, had reunited in 2021 and married the following year.
