Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez is mourning the loss of her mother, Kim, who sadly passed away today. Kim had been receiving medical treatment for some time and had been admitted to the hospital after suffering a heart stroke.
The tragic news was first shared by Instant Bollywood on Instagram, though an official statement from Jacqueline’s family is still awaited. Fans and well-wishers have expressed their condolences on social media, offering support to the actress during this difficult period.
In the days leading up to her mother’s passing, Jacqueline had been spotted at Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital, where Kim was receiving care. According to a report from Hindustan Times, Kim had been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and was in critical condition, with Jacqueline staying close by her side.
On Wednesday, paparazzi captured the actress arriving at the hospital, dressed in a white salwar kameez and a black mask, hurrying to her mother’s side. The family awaited updates from doctors, with Jacqueline choosing to remain with her mother instead of attending to her professional commitments.
Due to her mother’s deteriorating health, Jacqueline made the decision to step back from performing at the IPL opening ceremony on March 26 in Guwahati, where she had been scheduled to perform.
A report quoted, “Jacqueline’s mother is still in the ICU recovering. As the family awaits further updates from the doctors. In these challenging times, Jacqueline has chosen to be by her mother’s side, and unfortunately will be missing performing at the IPL ceremony.”

Kim Fernandez, who hailed from a multicultural background with Malaysian and Canadian roots and had Goan heritage, had been residing in Manama, Bahrain, for several years. She had previously suffered a stroke and had been hospitalised in 2022.
