Iulia Vantur pays tribute to Lata Mangeshkar with her soulful rendition of 'Lag Ja Gale' in Sikandar, says "I feel the song should be carried through generations..."

Iulia Vantur recently paid a heartfelt tribute to the legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar with a beautiful rendition of the timeless classic Lag Ja Gale in the highly anticipated film Sikandar.

The trailer offers a glimpse of Rashmika Mandanna singing the song, which has already captured significant attention online. Iulia’s rendition not only showcases her vocal talent but also honours Lata Mangeshkar’s extraordinary contribution to Indian music.

Sharing her deep connection with the song, Iulia expressed, "I fell in love with Lag Ja Gale when I heard it sung by the legendary Lata Ji, it touched my soul. I've started learning my first sargams, Indian classical, just because I wanted to be able to sing this wonderful song one day. It’s my favourite old Hindi song and I feel the song should be carried through generations, it's a very precious gem of Indian music. When I want to unwind I just sing this song and I get into a beautiful trance. It does something special to my being and I'm sure to many other people. I've been training for the last 10 years, learning music, learning singing, and Indian classical just for passion, it makes my life happier. I just sing from my heart, with honesty and love for what I do. Lag Ja Gale is really special and I'm grateful and happy that I've received a lot of love from many people, who couldn't believe that it was me who sang the song."

While Lag Ja Gale is earning widespread appreciation, this isn’t the first time Iulia has reimagined a classic.
