David Harbour, best known for his role as Jim Hopper in Stranger Things, is facing growing controversy as fans link his personal life to recent viral claims of infidelity and harassment.
The drama stems from the fallout of his split with singer Lily Allen and fresh reports involving his co-star Millie Bobby Brown.
Harbour’s marriage to Allen, once seen as one of Hollywood’s most grounded relationships, has unraveled under public scrutiny.
The couple, who met in 2019 on the celebrity dating app Raya, got married in 2020 with an Elvis-themed Las Vegas ceremony. For years, they were considered one of the industry’s stable couples, but by late 2024, reports suggested they were living separately. Their split was confirmed in early 2025.
According to The Mail, Harbour allegedly had an affair with 34-year-old costume designer Natalie Tippett, whom he met on the set of the 2021 Netflix film We Have a Ghost.
Sources claimed the friendship eventually turned romantic, with Allen discovering the relationship through messages on Harbour’s phone.
The controversy escalated after a viral post on X (formerly Twitter) reignited debate over Harbour’s past behavior. User @DecadeScrolling shared a collection of Reddit posts and blind items suggesting a “pattern” of infidelity, captioning: “Since people have no issue with spreading completely ridiculous blind items about Lily Allen, here is a thread of blind items about scumbag David Harbour that definitely show a pattern.”
Meanwhile, Lily Allen’s new album West End Girl, released on October 24, 2025, has intensified speculation. Tracks like Madeline and Tennis are widely interpreted as references to their marriage’s breakdown, with fans pointing to lyrics hinting at “emotional betrayal” and “infidelity.” The 14-track record, though never naming Harbour directly, paints a portrait of heartbreak and resilience that listeners see as deeply personal.
Adding to the storm are reports from Radar Online and Daily Mail alleging that Stranger Things co-star Millie Bobby Brown filed a harassment and bullying claim against Harbour before filming the show’s final season. According to The Daily Mail, “There were pages and pages of accusations. The investigation went on for months.” The internal inquiry reportedly required Brown’s personal representative to be present on set, though no sexual misconduct was alleged.
Interestingly, the controversy stands in stark contrast to Harbour’s on-screen father-daughter bond with Brown’s character, Eleven—a relationship built on trust and mentorship. As Stranger Things Season 5 prepares to premiere on November 26, with Part 2 arriving December 25, Harbour’s return comes under the shadow of these mounting personal and professional controversies.
