A big heartbreak came for Potterheads, as the dream of seeing Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint back together on screen isn’t happening. Chris Columbus, the director who brought Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone to life in 2001, has finally shut down reunion rumors.

In an interview with The Times UK, Columbus was blunt. "It's never going to happen. It’s gotten so complicated with all the political stuff. Everyone in the cast has their own opinion, which is different from her opinion, which makes it impossible." he said, referring to JK Rowling’s widely criticized stance on transgender issues.

The Harry Potter franchise, which ran for eight blockbuster films, has remained one of the most successful in cinema history, spawning spin-offs, theme parks, and video games worth billions. Fans are already gearing up for the upcoming TV series reboot, but chatter about a reunion has been non-stop. Until now.

Columbus, who also directed Chamber of Secrets in 2002, made it clear he hasn’t been in touch with Rowling for years. "I keep very close contact with Daniel Radcliffe and I just spoke to him a few days ago. I still have a great relationship with all the kids in the cast.”
