Thalapathy Vijay starrer GOAT is going on a steady pace at the box office. The Tamil movie directed by Venkat Prabhu, collected Rs 10.50 Cr India net on its sixth day for all languages.
According to Sacnilk.com, the actioner has collected Rs 162 crore nett in India so far.
The film is produced by Kalpathi S Aghoram, Kalpathi S Ganesh and Kalpathi S Suresh of AGS Entertainment.
On the day of its release, GOAT had collected a whopping Rs 44 crore with Rs 39.15 crore in Tamil and in Hindi: 1.85 crore, Telugu: Rs 3 crore.
On Day 2, the movie earner Rs 25.5 crore (Tamil: Rs 22.75 cr, Hindi: Rs 1.4 cr, Telugu: Rs 1.35 cr). It saw a jump in collections on Day 3 and earned Rs 33.5 crore.
On Day 4 and 5 the film collected Rs 34 crore Rs 14.75 crore respectively.
And on day six, Vijay's movie collected Rs 10.50 crore nett in India, in all languages taking the total to Rs 162.25 crore.
The Greatest of All Time (GOAT) had an overall occupancy of 33.43% in Tamil language as of September 10.
Venkat Prabhu's witty side
Director Venkat Prabhu recently took to X and discussed the reasons why GOAT didn't work in Telugu and Hindi.
Talking to fans he wrote in his witty manner that may be Indian Premiere League (IPL) team could’ve been the reason. Since in the climax scene of GOAT is in the Chepauk Stadium where Vijay's character is racing against time to stop a bomb from exploding.
He said, “Because of that, Mumbai Indians (MI) and RCB (Royal Challengers Bengaluru) fans troll me. We are all CSK fans - it’s in our blood and we can’t deny that. Maybe, it’s because of the CSK connection that this movie didn’t appeal much to Telugu and Hindi audiences. I don’t think they enjoyed the moment like we did.”

Vijay plays the lead role in The GOAT. The film is a period science fiction. Actors Prashanth, Prabhudheva, Sneha, Ajmal Ameer, Vaibhav, Laila, Mohan, Aravind Akash, Ajay Raj, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Sneha, Yogi Babu, Premgi Amaren, Yugendran, and VTV Ganesh play pivotal roles in the film.
Vijay is seen in the role of a field agent and spy who has carried out over 65 successful operations in his career.
