A recent incident sparked a huge reaction in the Telugu film industry. Actress Imanvi Ismail who is making her debut in Prabhas’ upcoming film Fauji became the target of false rumors online. Some people on social media began blaming Muslim celebrities without any evidence after the tragic terror attack in Pahalgam. Imanvi was wrongly accused of being from Pakistan.
This led to a wave of hate messages asking filmmakers to remove her from the movie. Finally Imanvi broke her silence through an Instagram post. She began her message by offering condolences to the victims of the Pahalgam attack and said, 'The violence is heartbreaking and I strongly condemn it.' She also added that as an artist, 'my mission has always been to spread love and positivity not hate.'
Imanvi clarified that the claims about her being Pakistani are completely false. She said 'I am not Pakistani. No one in my family has any connection with the Pakistani military.' She explained that these lies were spread by online trolls. She said that all this information was unfortunately shared by some media outlets without verifying the facts.
She shared her background saying, 'I’m a proud Indian American born in Los Angeles. My parents moved to the U.S. legally and became citizens. I speak Hindi, Telugu, Gujarati and English and I have always felt connected to Indian culture.'
Imanvi also said that after studying, she built her career in dance and acting and now feels fortunate to work in Indian cinema which she loved since childhood. She expressed her hope for the future, saying, 'I want to use my platform to bring people together. Art should be a tool for unity healing and understanding, especially in times of pain and loss.'
