Actress Esha Gupta has finally addressed long-standing rumours surrounding her alleged relationship with cricketer Hardik Pandya. In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, the Raaz 3 actress opened up about the nature of her connection with Pandya and why it never progressed into a full-fledged relationship.
“Yeah, for some time we were talking. I don’t think we were dating, but yeah, we were talking for a couple of months,” Esha said, clarifying that while they were in touch briefly, it never turned into a romantic relationship.
“We were at that ‘maybe it will happen, maybe it won’t’ stage. It ended before we even reached the dating stage. So it wasn’t dating-dating. We met once or twice, that’s it. So yeah, as I said, it was a couple of months and then it ended.”
When asked if there was ever a real possibility of a relationship, Esha responded, “Maybe it could have happened,” but admitted that “things fizzled out quickly.” She attributed it to poor timing and a lack of compatibility. “There was no drama or bitterness,” she emphasized. “It just wasn’t meant to be.”

Esha also discussed the time Hardik Pandya became the center of controversy for his remarks on Koffee With Karan. She clarified that the issue did not affect her because they had already stopped talking by then. “That part didn’t affect me, because we had already stopped talking by then,” she said.
Interestingly, Esha was among the few celebrities who had initially criticised the infamous 2019 episode for its misogynistic tone. However, she now reveals that she chose not to pile on further. “They were already going through enough. What good would it do if I jumped in with more criticism?” she explained. She noted that she had matured emotionally and preferred not to dwell on the past.
Explaining why things didn’t move forward between them, Esha said she seeks “grounded, meaningful relationships away from the public spotlight,” which might have conflicted with Pandya’s “high-profile public life.”
On the work front, Esha was last seen in Ek Badnaam Aashram 3 Part 2 on MX Player alongside Bobby Deol. She also portrayed DCP Laxmi Rathi in One Day: Justice Delivered. Rumours suggest she may join the cast of Hera Pheri 3, although no official confirmation has been made yet.
