Diljit Dosanjh responds to backlash over 'no more live shows in India' comment; deletes post

Singer Diljit Dosanjh recently announced during his concert in Chandigarh that he would stop performing in India due to inadequate infrastructure for live shows, a statement that sparked backlash. He later issued a clarification in a now-deleted post, attempting to address the controversy.

The singer clarified his statement and said in a post on X, “Nope. I said CHD ch Venue di Prob. C So.. jab tak sahi venue nhi mil jata Mai Tab Tak CHD mai Next Show Plan Nhi Karunga. That's it. (I said the problem was with the venue in Chandigarh. So, I said that till the time I get the right venue in Chandigarh, I will not plan another performance in the city.)

On Tuesday, Diljit Dosanjh took to social media to clarify that his earlier statement had been misunderstood, only to delete the note shortly after. He then shared a tweet that read, “BIG NEWS: Diljit Dosanjh announces he won't do shows in India due to poor concert infrastructure,” before deleting it.

During his concert in Chandigarh on December 14, Diljit Dosanjh paused mid-performance to comment on the lack of proper concert infrastructure in India. He expressed his desire to perform in a venue where the audience surrounds him, adding that he would not perform in India again until such infrastructure is available. This remark sparked considerable backlash from fans who criticized his statement.
