Released in July 2025, Jurassic World: Rebirth brought dinosaurs back to the big screen—this time against the untamed beauty of southern Thailand. Shot across Krabi, Phang-Nga, and Trang, the film showcased real-world locations so stunning they needed little digital enhancement.
The movie’s dramatic jungle chases and cliffside vistas were filmed in Krabi, a province rich in natural wonders and real palaeontological history. From towering waterfalls at Khao Phanom Bencha National Park to the eerie Tham Toh Luang caves in Ao Luek, Krabi delivered the perfect prehistoric vibe. Don’t miss Railay Beach’s soaring cliffs or the crystal-clear waters of Khlong Root—both cinematic and accessible.
Just north lies Phang-Nga, home to the iconic karst islands of Phang-Nga Bay. Often compared to a lost world, these towering limestone formations rising from emerald waters appeared in sweeping aerial shots throughout the film. The Samed Nang Chee viewpoint offers one of the best perspectives of this otherworldly seascape.

Trang, meanwhile, provided a quieter, dreamlike setting. The untouched sands of Ko Kradan’s Sunset Beach gave the film some of its most serene and magical moments. With no roads and golden-hour light washing over the shoreline, it’s easy to see why filmmakers chose this remote island sanctuary.
Beyond the camera, these regions are rich in real dinosaur history. Northern Thailand boasts fossil sites where species like Siamraptor suwati have been unearthed, linking the country to genuine palaeontological discoveries.
