Coldplay's Chris Martin made his audience laugh during the band's final Mumbai concert on January 21 at DY Patil Stadium. Continuing on Jasprit Bumrah funny segment, Chris Martin paused the performance to read what he called a “letter from Jasprit Bumrah’s lawyers,” leaving fans and the internet in splits.

Mid-concert, Martin humorously apologised for the interruption, saying, "I’m so sorry, but I have to read out a letter from Jasprit Bumrah’s lawyer. Otherwise, we could be sent to prison and wouldn’t be able to perform in Ahmedabad."

He proceeded to read the mock letter aloud, “Dear Coldplay, in your first and second show, you mentioned Jasprit Bumrah without permission. It’s illegal—you can’t mention Jasprit. Who do you think you are, you stupid Englishman? Also, Mr Jasprit Bumrah is the greatest bowler in the whole wide world, and you are just a silly singer.”

The audience erupted in laughter, especially when Martin quipped, "That’s okay. We love Jasprit Bumrah; he’s great."

To smooth things over, Martin requested a clip of Jasprit Bumrah dismissing an England batter during the 2024 home series to be displayed on the stadium’s screen. Fans cheered wildly as the bowler’s iconic moment played, blending the worlds of cricket and music.
Fans flooded social media with reactions, calling the moment "unexpected and hilarious." One attendee wrote, “This hyped me and the crowd—it was just too good.” Another said, “Now Jasprit has to come to Coldplay’s Ahmedabad show!”
